1. Who We Are
SecondMind ("we", "our", or "us") is a product developed and operated by Saurabh Infosys. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SecondMind mobile application (the "App") and our website.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password hash. Your name (optional) if you choose to provide it.
App Usage Data (Anonymous): We collect anonymized analytics such as the number of items added per state type, daily/monthly active usage counts, and free-to-paid conversion events. We do NOT collect or log item names, place names, person names, or notes.
Device Information: Basic device information for crash reporting (device type, OS version, app version). We do not collect device identifiers for advertising.
Payment Information: Handled entirely by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. We never see your credit card or payment details.

- The places where items are stored
- The names of people you've lent items to
- Your notes or personal context
- Photos you add to items
- Your physical location (no GPS)

4. How We Use Your Information
Your account email is used to: authenticate your login, send password reset emails, and occasionally send important product updates (you can opt out). Anonymous analytics data is used only to understand product usage at an aggregate level to improve the app.
5. Data Storage & Security
Item data is stored locally on your device first. If cloud sync is enabled, it is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers with industry-standard security practices.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify any individual. We may share data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
7. Data Retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Item data remains accessible (in read-only mode) after a subscription lapses — we never delete your data because you stopped paying.
8. Your Rights

9. Children's Privacy
SecondMind is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
